Communicating With Style
This workshop provides useful and immediate feedback designed to help employees and organizations targeted to build more productive teams; develop more effective managers and leaders and reduce interpersonal conflict. Understanding behavioral styles can increase productivity, interpersonal effectiveness and efficiency, which can result in greater insights, success and profitability. This workshop helps participants with self-understanding of behavior and provides a non-judgmental language for exploring performance issues across four primary dimensions: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
Adapting to Different Styles
How many times has someone gotten upset with you because they misunderstood your intentions? How many times have people misread your tone, your mood, or your approach? This course is designed to help participants grasp an important insight before misunderstandings occur, not after. The DiSC model helps them understand some of the most important aspects of human perception and interaction. Participants learn to see the characteristics of each DISC style and understand their unique preferences. But most important, they recognize how behavior is likely to be misread and learn how to adjust their communication to meet the needs and styles of those around them. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
Improved Communication Effectiveness
Communication is a fundamental skill. Most of us can do it well enough to get by, but we could all probably use some improvement. Unfortunately, communication is often regarded as such a basic skill that we take it for granted. We rarely take time to sharpen our abilities. This session introduces participants to the foundations of DiSC and helps them to create a greater self-awareness. Participants learn to apply this new knowledge to the area of conflict, and it helps participants discover simple ways to communicate more effectively. Finally this session helps participants use this new information to avoid misunderstandings and build stronger relationships. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
Managing Conflict & Resistance
Working with difficult people can be one of a manager's biggest headaches. People often times come across as difficult because they handle conflict differently than we do. In fact, others' approaches to conflict can often seem counterproductive, confusing, or even bizarre. This course provides participants with a simple, direct way to understand the different fears that drive much of the conflict and resistance they see. Through DiSC, managers learn their style of handling conflict and understand how that style might differ from their employees' methods. They also take time to recognize how quickly employees' fears can disengage them from a team or project. Participants learn how and why different people become threatened and discover skills for relating more effectively with people of all styles. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
Reducing Workplace Conflict
Few of us like conflict. So why is it so pervasive, so enduring, and so difficult to resolve? One of the primary reasons is that we all have a natural instinct to see just one side of an issue: our own. This is a simple but powerful program that helps individuals and groups develop the understanding and empathy to work through tough interpersonal conflicts. This course is designed to spark a lasting change that speaks to not only the individual, but also to the group. It builds fundamental skills that are crucial for effective teamwork and communication. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
Building on Your Style's Strengths
It's no secret that some of us seem to have more natural social skill than others. But the truth is that we all have our own interpersonal strengths. Truly effective people know their talents and find opportunities to maximize their skills. But we all also have areas in which we struggle, and although we usually have access to interpersonal feedback, we rarely seek it out. This program helps participants pinpoint their unique strengths and shows them how they can get the most out of their talents. The course also illustrates how these same strengths can be overused to the point that they become obstacles. Exercises provide a safe and constructive way for participants to gather interpersonal feedback from their fellow group members. Armed with this feedback and a solid knowledge of their interpersonal strengths, participants are prepared to unearth their natural abilities and use them to their fullest. DISC on-line assessment tools and group reports are utilized.
